Just want to thank those of you who, unlike me, took time out over the xmas break to wish me a merry xmas, either in comments or by email. I, unfortulately, am completely selfish and spent the holidaze worrying about myself and the gazillion family gatherings taking place between in-laws, step-in-laws, aunts and whatnot.
Time Warner sucks donkey dick. I’ve already called AT&T to get DSL again...I cringe...but it can’t be any worse than the 9-motherfucking-kbps upload speed we’re currently getting from Time Warner. Assholes.
Dish Network is coming out tomorrow to do a site survey to make sure my own building isn’t blocking my signal. If all goes well, we won’t have to ever deal with Time Warner after Friday.
This weekend, we are going to The Mr.’s dad’s house for a post-xmas gathering with his dad, grandmother, and sister’s family - they’re driving up from Houston, so the least we could do is shell out another $75 on gifts and meet them for dinner.
The cats go to the vet on Friday for their annual vaccinations. I’m a couple of months late on this. I know. I’m a horrible cat mom. But since the old vet pissed The Mr. off with Tucker, I haven’t had time to find a new vet. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. The big cat has been having runny shit lately, so need to get that checked out, too.
Tuesday, the little cat is getting her front claws torn out. Okay, not literally, but I’m shelling $100 more on the declawing procedure at the only vet in a 50-mile radius who does laser declawing. The procedure is a lot less painful and recovery time is almost nonexistent. Yes, I’m cruel and insensitive to my cat’s feelings. However, the beating that my couch took, and the senseless beating that she takes from me every.single.time she scratches anything (especially if that “anything” is me) is a lot more inhumane than laser surgery.
The Mr. and I are talking about going away for the New Year weekend. Just the two of us. We’ll see.
