I realize that you may not see an influx of diners coming in at 4pm on a Sunday, regularly...but just because it’s not normal, doesn’t mean you should ignore them for a full 15 minutes after seating them, just because your day-old newspaper is, apparently, far more interesting that you can’t spare a minute and a half to take their order.
Seriously.
The Mr. and I went to Denny’s this afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner (would that be linner or drunch?). We were the only two customers there. There were TWO waitresses at the fucking front of the restaurant when we walked in. Both made eye contact with us...yet, it took a full minute before someone decided they should seat us.
After they sat us, we got water...then waited for 15 minutes before we decided to leave. We walked right past them on the way out, and no one batted an eye or said word one to us.
So we went to Friday’s, which was just as barren, but after 15 minutes we were already halfway through our meals and on our way to becoming miserably stuffed.
Again...seriously...wtf?
Sure, I get that working at Denny’s can’t be the highlight of your resume. But c’mon. Some fucking common courtesy would be nice. Not because I expect your to love your job and kiss my ass...but because it’s fucking rude to be an ass to someone before they give you a reason to hate them.
I can think of several reasons for anyone to hate me...but none involve me not opening my mouth first!
So...note to self: don’t go to Denny’s until after midnight.
